Hill Vintage and Knits got a nice little shout out from Edward Eveld, travel writer for the Kansas City Star in an article on the hipness of our fair little city.

On the map, Des Moines, Iowa, is a middling metro area in the middle of a vast inland ocean of corn. Corn as far as the car can drive.

But in the city’s East Village, life is strangely uncornlike. A walkable warren, quirky and fun, snuggles below Iowa’s monumental, gold-domed Capitol.

We couldn’t be prouder of our home and business community. Thanks so much KC Star!!!

Wedding Hat Packs!

Both hats are knit with Cascade Eco Wool. The solid blue hat is the Fishtail Slouch pattern and the striped hat is the Regular Guy Beanie pattern.

Both hats are knit with Cascade Lana D’Oro. The all purple hat is the Wellington pattern by Jane Richmond. The striped hat is the same pattern as above.

The striped hat is knit with Cascade Lana D’Oro and the other is Malabrigo Rios. Both hats are knit with the same pattern as the first. My summer is packed to the brim with weddings and I wanted to include something that was handmade. These hats were knit as part of a wedding pack that were given as his/her hats for the bride and groom. All available for commission, $28.
